Centered around Grubs End Police Force:
Sargent Ware the Head of the station and an old-fashioned by the book Policeman, scrupulously honest and totally dedicated both to the job in hand and to his team of uniformed officers.
These comprise of:
P.C. Tom Oakey who likes to believe that anything he is working on is more important than routine Police duties. P.C. Gail Blige with her frosty exterior is the level-headed brightest one of the bunch. P.C Oakey constantly pursues her believing he will eventually break through her cold exterior to find love. And then theres P.C. Nigel Dobbs the boy scout of the force and unfortunately one sandwich short of a picnic, always wanting to help the public rather than solve the crime in hand.
The storylines revolve around the interplay amongst the characters rather than the jobs they are assigned: here it’s catching criminals.
